Over Oeiras

Oeiras is a city in Piauí. The town grew around a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Victories established in 1695. The town was the capital of Piauí between 1759 and 1851. Oeiras is a centre of religious pilgrimage and is best visited around Easter, or one of the other major religious festivals observed in the city. At other times, Oeiras is a pleasant, sleepy town.
