This 15-day Arctic summer voyage takes you cruising through the Spitsbergen archipelago in search of wildlife, dramatic landscapes and the region's whaling heritage. Departing from Longyearbyen, the expedition combines remote scenery with chances to encounter the extraordinary fauna of the high north, making it an ideal journey for those drawn to wild, rarely visited places. At Smeerenburg you will visit a 17th-century whaling station, before sailing on to Sorgfjord, which offers the opportunity to spot walruses alongside more history. You will go ashore at Kapp Lee and may walk in Rosenbergdalen in search of reindeer. Another excursion leads to Hornsund, with its glacier views and the possibility of seeing the king of the Arctic, the polar bear. The result is an immersive blend of landscape, wildlife and history.
