About Palma

Mallorca is far more than the party reputation of a few resorts. Palma is a real city with an imposing seafront cathedral, an old town full of patios and a thriving food and art scene. In the northwest the Tramuntana mountains rise up, with villages like Valldemossa and Deià, terraced olive groves and winding roads to hidden coves like Sa Calobra. The north and east deliver quiet family beaches and calas with turquoise water.

The short flight and the variety make the island suit both an active and a lazy week. Cyclists come in spring and autumn for the Tramuntana; beach-goers in summer. May, June and September strike the finest balance of sun, swimming and calm.

May–October; May, June & September the finest
